Let's start from a live bomb, an audio file from a new regular night called Cassette held monthly in NYC by Machine Drum, Lando Kal and a few others.  It's a 3.5h live set by Eliot Lipp, Machine Drum, Lando Kal and Praveen. The leitmotive of Casette is "We Make That Sh*t Wann Dance" Yeah, I totally agree, I could hardly sit on my ass at work while listening to this pumping mixture of disco, rnb, crunky electro, hiphop, funk, glitch, B-more.

Moving to harder and more glitchy areas, MIMOSA has dropped an ultra heavy and crunky mix which may be a real hazard for your home soundsystem. Tigran rides on a very unique sound, combining soft and hard components in a special way. I'm a real sucker for everything coming from his camp, and this mix is absolutely top-notch quality.

This mix has been on a nearly constant rewind in my player for the last few days. Heartbreaking voyage into the land of sad but beautiful melodies and spacey, extended, pulsating bass, smoothly moving towards more oriental vibe. The absolute highlight of this set of mixes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Mary Anne Hobbs - Experimantal - Modeselektor, Machine Drum, Lorn, Daedelus

I have not posted M.A.H. Experimental for a while, but now she had such a series of killing shows YOU MUST NOT MISS that you can expect the full coverage on my blog.  Let's start from two shows aired in October.

Mary Anne Hobbs – Experimental 2009 10 29 Modeselektor and Machine Drum [Hotfile]

First the show including exclusive mixes by Modeselektor and Machine Drum. Berlin-based duo Modeselektor explores very diverse regions of electronic music in their mix, which is actually more laidback and dreamy offering than their usual, famous live sets. But the real winner of this show for me is a a prolific New Yorker, Machine Drum's set. He will soon launch a regular club night with Lazer Sword, Mike Slott (Lucky Me), Jimmy Edgar in NYC- OMG what a f...g collection of forward thinking artists!! New Yorkers watch out. The mix is full of originals and remixes by the man, including my fave remix - neon acid remix of Gucci Sweatshirt by Lazer Sword, and also a track Mux Mool who is another of my favorite artists hailing from US. You can download Machine Drum's full-length "Want to 1 2" from iTunes, and expect a physical release of this album early 2010 (along with some other goodies on which he collaborated). Definitely, one of the most underrated releases out there!!!

Mary Anne Hobbs – Experimental 2009 10 22 Lorn and Daedelus mixes [Hotfile]

Another great show was aired a week earlier. On 22 October 2009 MAH featured exclusive mixes by Daedalus and Lorn. West Coast par excellance with two eccentric artists. Daedalus probably needs no introduction as he is tirelessly releasing great chunks of weird IDM, experimental electronic music and touring across the world. He has actually visited Poland a few times, the last time just a few weeks ago, unfortunately I did not manage to go there :( The mix featured in this show was origingally recorded and aired in the spring when MAH released an entire series of West Coast oriented stuff.

Lorn is a pretty mysterious guy producing absolutely outstanding and mind-bending music, check the review of his eerie and beautiful EP Grief Machine by your humble narrator on glitch.fm. As an introduction of Lorn read an excerpt from my feature: "Lorn has recently joined the mighty Brainfeeder. He's just posted a few beat-rap tracks (feat. Notorious B.I.G, Mobb Deep). Wake up, fucked up is my personal best in this set. Check it to see how diverse Lorn's sound is. His brrap edits push hip-hop genre to a totally different level and once again prove that glitch-hop (lazer bass, brap) is the genre of the future. As opposed to classic hip-hop, in the case of glitch-hop, acacapellas seem to be just a booster to amazing beats and bleeps churned out by the big community of fantastic producers hailing from US. Lorn is definitely in the fore-front of this movement."

Samples churns great track after great track with a speed of industrial assembly line. His glitched basslines are extremely crisp and ‘metallic’. I have always suspected him of some form of bio-technological upgrade, and in this track the truth is revealed – his robot self finally speaks!!

Wolf Intervals – All Up Under The Covers Day
This track and video just killed me!! It’s on a constant repeat since last week. Glitchy mother lover. Fantastic and totally infectious SNL’s remix. “I'm a mother lover you're a mother lover we should fuck each others mother” and “it would be an honour to be your step father” what would Sigmund Freud say?!?!?

Freddy Todd - Detroit Gets It

Great glitch-hop track by a Detroit producer, a kind of response to „witnessing The Glitch Mob, RJD2, and Bassnectar bomb the blocks in down town Detroit. (his own words). In my opinion a very good and ass-kicking response. Tight mixing and very nice work with deconstructed vocals and if you know Glitch Mob stuff – you can easily recognize Mob-like beats and melodies skillfully woven into the composition.

Freddy Todd – Grind Baby

Another great industrial glitch offering from a city with dying industry. Excellent Detroit beats full of cleverly mixed samples from Busta Rhymes, STS9, Funkadelic, Ben Harper and more. I really dig Freddy Todd’s whompy and melodic aesthetics.

Fat Pat - Dirty Birds
Heavy dubstep bassline and funny nursery rhyme melody mix. Fantastic clash of styles!! But, please do not play this music to your kids, they might go mental on you.

Johnny Cash – Belshaazar (Machine Drum remix) Crunked up version of Johnny Cash hit! Fat glitched beats by Machine Drum. Tip!
