Mixing Monday: Donky Pitch, Pixelord, + verb, Kuedo, Coco Bryce.

Last week brought a few interesting mixes and I decided to load them wholesale to my site. Hours of spacey synths, heavy bass and stomping beat in a mutant sauce of contemporary experimental electronica. Enjoy! (All tracklists after the jump at the bottom of the page).

Let's start the selection from the latest, super hot mix from the Lord of All Pixels i.e. Pixelord. In Big UP's podcast he offers top-notch selection featuring Alexey's own stuff and remixes, a great Zeppy Zep's remix of Spellbound by a Polish producer hailing from my hometown - Tom Encore plus huge Krampfhaft tune and f...g heavy lazers from Naive Machine and loads more. Definitely the mix not to be missed!

Big Up Podcast 44 - Pixelord

Donky Pitch has recently stormed the scene with their releases and this is another smashing radio show, featuring an exclusive mix from LA's Groundislava and a short mix by Ghost Mutt. The selection is eclectic as usual featuring tons of unreleased stuff from e.g. Slugabed, Jonwayne, Blue Daisy, Nasty Nasty, Nightwave, KRSUR, 813 and much more.

Just Groundislava's mix alone is worth downloading this 3-hour monster. He has recently dropped an amazing self-titled debut on Friends of Friends which is one of my favorite releases this year. Expect more words about this on DrKrank's blog soon. Preview and cop the album on boomkat

Slapping and cybarblapping mix from + verb, an artist consistently developing his own unique style full of heavy basslines and extensive melody lines, glitchy and touching at the same time. I have been his fan for years, and as usual this guy never disappoints. This mix is the latest installment in his music career, offering a preview of several unreleased tracks. Expect big things coming from + verb on, among others Robox Neotech. And don't forget to invite him to a town near you for a sick lazer set. Return on Investment guaranteed!

Kuedo a.k.a. Jamie Vex'd in a short mutant wonky mix with lots of twisted hip-hop beats and rhyming for Belgrade's Svetlana Industries. This is one of these artists whom I have followed since my early dubstep years and each of his 'faces', either as a part of Vex'd duo or solo as Jamie Vex'd or now Kuedo, is inspiring and interesting and shows great sensitivity and feeling of the urban electronic scene. I'm anxiously waiting for his new releases.

Great Donky Pitch radio show recorded in December 2010 by Grinel & Nameless Pete (aka Donky Pitch DJs) - Donky X Hivemind Volume 3. Plenty of exclusives and upfront heat, incl. monster hip hop bash (a totally 'osom Lloyd Banks in Start it Up), cold skwee bonanza, synth-driven bass orgy and future, broken - wot u call it - sound and experimental trips. Starting from mutant beats by West Coast newcomer to the scene - Jon Wayne, through tunes by Tokimonsta, Lunice, Motem, Randy Barracuda (sick sick!), Beatbully with 8-bit Drom - another skweentastic shit, beautiful dBridge remix, top quality Rudi Zygadlo, fantastic, forthcoming Black Acre release by 1000 Names - Before Sunrise or crazy synth improvisations by Romanian wizzkid - Montgomery Clunk in a bonus track from his, great Superbas EP. Plus tons of other equally goods treats. Some of them, I've never heard of, it's haight time to catch up, Doktor :). Eclectic, educational and highly entertaining show offers two hours of hot, FUTURE electronic music with top selection. Yes, I am not afraid of using this over-used adjective, there is so much fresh juice in there - yummy! Don't sleep on this.

DKY001minimix by Donky Pitch

New Brighton-based label Donky Pitch has hit the market with the avalanche of sick synthetizers and twisted basslines in their firest release - Donky Stomp EP featuring one of my favorite producers and the real master of sonic disaster - Slugabed (Ninja Tune / Planet Mu) accompanied by his homie Ghost Mutt.

Donky Stomp original by Slugabed is definitely one of the best tunes I've heard this year and just proves an immense talent of this Brighton boy, even though paradoxically this track is quite 'restraint' for him :). But he allows this beautiful, spacey and melodic composition to really 'play out', while of course building his 8-bit synth solos on a solid, heavy and glitchy sub-bass. Exactly the way I like it! A Spanish producer- Mweslee refixed Donky Stomp into more wonky and purple affair with the great use of vocal sample.

Ghost Mutt in his two tracks goes full force into neon dubstep territories, where heavy synths play the main role among 8-bit, Nintendo bleeps and pieces and heavy basslines. Platinum Skull is super solid, reminding me a bit of Starkey's work, but it is Thoroughbred that goes totally overboard with absolutely killing, colourful neon, post R'n'B extravaganza which should become a real hit on the dancefloors and in the mixes across the globe. All in all - a Vinyl / digital release YOU MUST NOT MISS! You better memorize the name of Donky Pitch - more great things to come from their camp for sure.

Mweslee, a producer from Spain, who played alongside Slugabed, Ghost Mutt, Alexander Nut at the Donky Pitch label release party last Saturday, has released an interesting Donky Pitch Mix via Rhythm Incursions, a fine tool for serious office head-nodding fitness. Classic, funky and proper mutant beatz / hip-hop without all these shitty artificial and horrible top-40 losers. TIP!

Talking about Rhythm Incursions, here is another super dope and heavy guest mix for RI from the Tokyo-based Raid System aka RIRS, i.e. Broken Haze and XLII. Oh boy, these guys know how to kick ass dropping banger after banger featuring several of my favorite artists, like e.g. Slugabed, Mochipet, edIT, Machinedrum, FlyLo, Rustie, +verb or Diplo. Jump, jump madaf***s!

PS: Bart B's - Brap made me leave my workplace (which is a near-crime in my corposlavery) cause there was no way I could sit on my ass listening to this!

(Cont.) Monsters that escaped me: Slugabed & Fulgeance mixes for Donky Pitch

I don't know how come I missed these two absolutely gorgeous, crazy and supa nitid works of mutant future beatz !?!? If not for a friend who directed me towards Donky Pitch soundcloud (gracias amigo!), I wouldn't catch these beasts alive.

Slugabed in his exclusive mix (sadly no tracklist) presents only his own beats and though I've heard most of them I could never get tired of super heavy and delicious sonic treat by IMHO the best producer currently working on the electronic music scene. Slugabed is the best I f...k the rest, he he.

Another super gifted beatmaker, Fulgeance, did equally fantastic mix for Donky Pitch, leaning more on the experimental beatz side than Sluga (e.g. Shlohmo, DZA, Ad Bourke, Mux Mool) but spicying this up with some electro frenzy flavor like in Lando Kal's anthem - Fuzzy Ankles.
