Glitch Mob - xlr8r podcast / edIT - Pound 4 Pound

The Glitch Mob in double feature. The boys have a short break from their big tour and decided to release some goodies via the Internet.

First, the track by edIT - Pound 4 Pound, which was originally featured in The Glitch Mob’s Low End Theory podcast - now available as a free download through TheGlitchMob.com. A heavy treat, with some hard-hitting synths in a kind of cross between the "old" edIT and the new The Glitch Mob turned live band :)

On the same day The Glitch Mob released their xlr8r podcast. Boreta, Ooah and edIT offer a super eclectic selection of fantastic exercises in post-hip hop beatmaking, with great vocalists doing their job to the rhythm of distorted, glitchy bass. The voyage ranging from the muzak of Jamie Lidell, The Dead Weather, Yeasayer or Ratatat (one of the best albums this year in Doktor Krank's ranking - highly recommended!) through the likes of Alex B and the knight of the dark side Lorn (the artist of the year for me!) to the champions of warped, ultra glitched sound, i.e. Eskmo in his fantastic remix of Bibio's track and Eprom exploring more and more experimental regions of music spectrum in mind-boggling Whyyyyyyyy? Honestly, I can't get enough of the stuff produced by Eprom atm. The good news is he will hit Europe in September!.The bad news is he does not (yet) have a gig booked in Poland. PROMOTERS - don't sleep on him, grab the man before it is too late.

All in all, don't expect dancefloor mayhem, heavy bass, sick drops and  breakdowns like in the old days of the Glitch Mob, but if you are into Music with capital 'M' this podcast is a must!

SCHLACHTHOFBRONX - XLR8R PODCAST 8.04.2010 + MAN RECORDINGS PODCAST

My favorite air-horn carnival butchers from Munich, Schlachthofbronx,  finally featured on xlr8r podcast! Ghetto dancehall bouncy trip, full of originals and remixes, with a fast forward ride through all the Mad Decent-type gems of world music like cumbia or baile funk plus lots, lots of fantastic vocals. Schlachthofbronx are the absolute masters of eclectic fusion of  stomping etno bass riddims. I wish I had enough money to book them for a show in Warsaw, though the day after the party I would probably need to see some Oriental Healer to repair my dislodged joints.

DNAE Beats - There's a Wormhole in my Bathroom mash for xlr8r

DNAE Beats - There's a Wormhole in my Bathroom xlr8r podcast

Another great podcast from one of the best internet music magazines – XLR8R (well, my favorite one with definitely the best mix series). Bass-heavy, mid-tempo, dubstep blap from DNAE Beats, S.F.-based producer, is an exclusive mashup of tracks off his new release (His latest promo mix, There's a Wormhole in My Bathroom, will drop shortly).

Created for a “dark room and some kinda blue light” (he,he) the mix transports the listeners to the land where powerful sub-bass reigns and mystery lurks in the shadows, while wormholes open up to other, strange dimensions. The power is definitely with this knight of doom as he plays his multi-layered tracks for my and your listening pleasure. One of the darkest and tightest mixes I’ve heard recently. This combination of darkness, dubstep and glitch hop is good for your health! Try it! It's free, and I assure you there are no side effects apart from possible damage to your speakers.

DNAE BEATS remix prepared as a part of the famous remix competition of Mochipet's - Microphonepet release in 2008.
