The Earth Day - which by accident is also my Birthday :))) - is the great time to present news about amazing event taking place on one of the most beautiful islands of our Gaia - Hawaii. The 2nd Annual Alchemeyez Visionary Art Congress will be held May 13-15 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island. I have a kind request to scientists (not necessarily representing orthodox science) working on teleportation, please send me a prototype, any prototype, so that I can port myself to Hawaii in two weeks. This is the type of event one has to experience directly.
The event is a festival and conference uniting people from across the globe around the idea that visionary art forms can heal and strengthen the collective spirit of humanity. With well over two-dozen visionary artists and more than thirty-five musical acts, Alchemeyez promises to excite and inspire boundless creativity in those who attend.
The musical acts line-up is simply ridiculous and I would definitely like to meet the brother of the Magellan of Psychedlic Head Space, Terence McKenna and apocalyptic shaman Android Jones, and immerse myself into fantastic visionary art to the sound of my favorite bass music. Russian beatmakers are unstoppable. They are young, talented and bring their unique sensitivity and 'soul' to the contemporary electronic music. They don't care about fashion and hype which is quite prevalent also in non-mainstram music nowadays (see: future garage or uk funky I am really fed up with at the moment), they simply do their thing. 19-year old (sic!), Feodor Pereverzev from Moscow, a.k.a. Moa Pillar is the prime example of this new wave of fascinating artists from Russia. He has just released a fantastic The Moon and Thunder Dance EP on the new Russian imprint G5 Music (part of the respected Gimme5 community), supported worldwide by the American Alpha Pup Records.
Many of you probably heard Water Lilly - one of the biggest anthems and bangers and one of my personal top tracks of 2010. When I first heard this tune I felt as if someone had slapped me in the face and then pushed me off the cliff. But I did not crash. On the contrary, this was a great flight! The raw power of Moa Pillar's sonic assault instantly increased my interest in music made in Russia tenfold. Though other tracks do not attack the listener with equally brute and beautiful force, this EP proves that Moa Pillar like no other artist can very skilfully combine regional, ethnic soundscape with ultra modern heavy bass & mutant beatz, creating synth-driven compositions, weaving through the listener's mind like good stories told by old shamans at the fireworks in the dark woods. I feel particularly attuned to this feeling of atavistic yearning and archaic undercurrent richly distributed in Moa Pillar's music, as in enchanting Red in Rainbow or Flying Low. Such soulful moments are so sorely missing from the music I hear nowadays, that I cannot remove a big smile from my face. Female vocals in Heama with fantastic, spacey synth improvisations simply turn me on!Lake Mystery starts like a typical oriental, arabic song to suddenly twist into cut-up ethnic chants with lots of beautiful bleeps and bits in the background building up to absolutely mesmerizing trip! As in the case of many artists from Eastern Europe I heard recently I really wonder how come such youngsters are able to produce such a mature music?
For years, I've been a strong adherent of Entheogenic Reformation in oppossition to the Pharmacratic Inquisition we face daily in our fucked up reality and my mind is really satisfied listening to such a beautiful, modern yet archaic and in the end - psychedelic stuff. We all know the stories of Siberian shamans, don't we? This is the music these wizards would definitely incorporate in their ceremonies with ease :))
I am deeply sorry, for my far too-long stream of consciousness, but somehow this music has inspired me to creative (I hope) writing which unfortunately you have been now exposed to... Anyway, check this music and let yourself be attracted to the tribal world of Mr. Moa Pillar:

Apart from great music content, this EP shows more amazing talents, as the artwork by Hargi Csik & Erik Kirtley is the best thing in this department I've seen in months! Simple but extremely effective and emotional, the way I like :)

David Starfire, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ from West Coast of US, has published a great, psyche-etno-bass mix on a Reality Sandwich portal or I should rather write, a community of people interested in evolution of conciousness in our hi-tech world. Reality Sandwich, is a child of the Daniel Pinchbeck, the author of great books on psychedelic exploration, e.g. Breaking Open the Head or 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl (highly recommended if you have not read them yet!). I visit the site on and off and was very pleased to find there this mix by David Starfire, whose Bollyhood Bass is definitely one of the best releses this year. Great vibe, lots of fantastic remixes and mash-ups of some golden oldies and super fresh tunes. Breath-taking, pulsating bassline meandering through the beautiful vocals and oriental drums. World music, Bhangra, Balkan music mixed with hip-hop beat and heavy bass or dubstep, with a scrap of psychedelia , this is what Doktor Krank really really likes and highly recommends.

There was a period of time in San Francisco a few years ago that I would be with a group of friends on psychedelics and wanted to venture out to different places in the city. I would always be the designated driver (also would be referred to as the "trip master") and was the person that would know all the interesting and lesser-known spots of the city. As you can imagine it was always interesting, funny and amazing as my passengers would share their experiences. There was one point when we were driving around and someone said that they felt like they were in a "car space shuttle" instead of a car with wheels. Everyone in the car instantly agreed and said that it felt like they were in a space shuttle car like in Blade Runner (called "spinners") or the infamous "land speeders" of Star Wars. It must of been the perception of moving without feeling the wheels touching the ground and being in a confined space. I would think back about that day and always wanted to make an awesome soundtrack to an awe inspiring journey. So that is what I wanted for this mix, a soundtrack for the psychonauts in their spinners!

Quite an old mix (ca. 2005/2006) yet with universal music worth listening at any time past or future. Made with deep emotions and feelings but most of all creating a very nice trippy diversion from all this banger-whomp style shit I’ve been listening to lately. So for a moment, let’s switch from the Church of Hedonism to the Entheogenic Reformation Church. Knowa KnowOne with the support of his own productions and selection of other trippy and glitchy artists (like Prefuse 73, edIT, Bluetech, F.S.O.L) and spiritual seekers, above all the Magellan of Psychedlic Seas - Terence McKenna, takes us for a trip into other reality tunnels. It's like a breath of fresh air for me (and bear in mind this is my very subjective and personal view at this particular point of time, you have the right not to agree with me), as I've recently have immersed a bit too far into full-energy soundz, actually finding too much music and much too little quality.
And besides, I love listening to Terence's rant, he was able to talk without a break for hours about quite difficult philosophical or scientific issues as if the words were subconsciously formed in his mind and Terence was just a mere transceiver broadcasting them to the public. But what ideas these were! I wish this he was still with us. Yeah, I'm getting sentimental, but I don't give a dub.
