I feel like slaying a few throats with clean cutting lazers. There are so many dumb-ass targets around me I would have serious problems from whom I should start. Pakistani Starfleet Commando figthing Gigantic Dove Invaders are my heroes this week :). To do my job properly I need appropriate music score. HALP, hailing from the Netherlands, will soon release (23rd May Boomkat) a fantastic EP Gazzillian Yeers, where lazers par excellence meticulously spray the listeners and slow burning neon synths, 8-bit distortions and twisted melodies complete the act of destruction. Mochipet brings more super heavy lazers in his remix of Mike Jone's "My 64". Glitchy as shit mash up full of great samples (one you'd recognize immediately) and unique, one-of-a-kind Mochipet's slabs and drums of pure liquid bass. Quality as usual!

Finally ultra heavy lazers courtesy of Bart Tyrpien a.k.a. Bartlomein, He has just released his first EP with self-explaining title :) Let Lazers Guide You In.  A guy born in Poland who migrated some years ago to the USofA delivers 5 tracks with glitched to the max, pulsating basslines and nicely woven vocal samples, plus hard pads and drums - definitely the music which works best with big party soundsystems. Recommended!

Run Vie compilation

WOW! So many great names on the future beatz scene featured in one album which can be downloaded for FREE!!  RUN VIE compilation is the ABSOLUTE MUST for any beat headz out there! The music quality is much more than average for this type of comp. RUN VIE is a festival taking place in Vienna, Austria at the beginning of October. Shit, I wish I was there - actually it's not so far from my hometown (a mere 700km). I have to seriously consider the trip. Robot Koch, fLako, Swede:art, Dorian Concept, 1000 Names, Free the Robots, Aloe Blacc - what more can you desire to reach a sonic orgasm! (some artists performing at the festival that did not make it to the comp incl. Comfort Fit, Derrick May, BLU). But the real discovery on RUN VIE for me personally are tunes by the German hip-hop duo JR&PH7, in particular Let's move feat. Skyzoo in The Clonius remix. Never heard of them and I believe I have to catch up fast with their discography. Grab this gem and let your body Moooooooooooooooooove.

ROBOT KOCH - DEATH STAR DROID REMIX EP

I'm a big fan of Robot Koch and his Death Star Droid was the best album of 2009 in Doktor Krank's ranking. Some time ago Robot Koch released an EP with remixes of the tracks from that album, plus one new tune - Blind again featuring Grace who was a guest vocalist on DSD. A powerful, yet fragile, voice of Grace laced with the Robert's fluid beat and a few layers of synths builds up to heavy bass culmination in this much-too-short journey. Another new work is Robot Koch's remix  of New Day, by the Brooklyn-based Body Language (they release stuff on Machine Drum's Normrex). I don't know the original but this remix has a peculiar neon quality, reminding me strongly of sunny LuckyMe stuff.

Then, fLako steps in with a heavily glitched up edit of the title track Death Star Droid - for me the highlight of the entire release next to the Phon.o's remix. Loops Haunt mercilessly throws his sick drums, kicks, pads, bass or whatever he seems to have at hand into one boiling and twisting off-beat syncopation in his very unique vision of Gorom Sen.  Another remix of Gorom Sen by young, talanted beatmaker from LA - Shlohmo, has already made some rounds in the blogosphere before the release. Future beat par excellence!!

Blue Daisy takes the listener to a dreamy fairyland for a trippy ride through etheric sonic landscape which virtually desintegrates into nothingness 'in front of our ears'. TUNE!!

Gorom Sen's remixes by Body Language from NYC and Beat Laden from Portugal (props for the name!!!!) are more 'classic' joints for dancefloors, whereas Talen introduced quite a nice pumping, oldschool, electro vibe which reminds me of the late 90's parties. This track has some vintage quality it's really hard for me to verbalize :)

The successful release is crowned with fantastic Phon.o's remix of Gorom Sen. It's a great dancefloor-oriented roller with beautiful synths and pumping beats. You will be hooked up instantly with infectious '8-bit meets oldschool garage in Berlin' type of aesthetics. Cop it and blast it looouuud!

ROBOT KOCH KWATRO MIX

Regular readers of my blog know that I'm a big fan of Robot Koch, thus I was really stoked to hear the super fresh mix done for Kwatro, a blog / portal of another, great German beatmaker - fLako.

No tracklist (apparently deliberate - read the mix introduction on Kwatro). But you can hear there low-key remix of The XX - Basic Space (no idea which one, there were so many of them), absolutely wonderful Eskmo's I dream I'm flying, the track I often have on a constant repeat in my car, lots of fantastic sound snippets collected by Robot Koch and all this is crowned with a hot remix of the forthcoming Robot Star Droid Remixed - Gorom Sen in the dancefloor-oriented refix by P.hono with beatiful synths and nicely rolling, pumping beats. The artwork for the mix is equally top-notch. Listen on mixcloud or download.

COMFORT FIT - POLYSHUFFLEZ REMIXES

No time to write a proper review of this record unfortunately, but at least I don't want you to miss a very interesting and eclectic remix album of Comfort Fit's "Polyshufflez" out now on Tokyo Dawn Records. Germany-based Comfort Fit's experimental hip-hop in fourteen impressive and unique re-interpretations by e.g. Laurent Garnier, Domu, Opolopo, Atjazz, Boom Clap Bachelors, Robot Koch, Jay Scarlett, fLako and more. Tons of great electronica, beautiful beats, cut-up vocals, bleeps, lo-fi minimal soundscapes, experimental synthetizer solos. Let your mind immerse in this caleidoscope of future sound. Highlights for me are: Jay Scarlett's head-nodding hip-hop remix, swede:art's pounding 'breather', Robot Koch's multi-layered electronic journey for open-minded listeners (another great tune from Robert), fLako's neon-synths dreamy re-fix, Comfort Fit's specey remix of their own track and finally Opalopo's slowed-down, unsettling, weird beats. The rest is also definitely worth checking. Very solid release!
