Raziek - Steppin Up

I would not call myself a fan of UK funky, house or RnB, though I am quite open to juke, ghetto booty and tropical experiments, provided they have some bass embedded. Steppin Up by French producer Raziek is a fucking BANGER with crispy clean sound, great vocals and super funky, cold beat. What else do you need to move your ass! Finally the tune which made my body step up a bit from traumatically boring corpo day at work. Highly recommended by Doktor Krank!!

Hovatron - "Rain in Montreal" Lookout Mixtape # 2

The flood of good mixes continues. This time Montreal's finest crunky, electro, glitchy, RnB, UK urban, you-name-it producer and DJ - Hovatron dropped a really twisted mixtape for Lookout. Lazer Sword, Lunice, Hovatron vs. Mosca, El-B, Ramadanman, Kingdom plus Lil B, Timbaland and more, the eclectic selection as usual. Nice, funky mix with great vibe for all you badbwoys and badgals out there. Makes me smile and nod my head to the beat and sing to the great acappelas.

Lazer Sword - Batman

Lazer Sword has just revealed the first single from their forthcoming and much anticipated self-titled debut LP to drop on 2 November. Batman is a bit different from the usual high-energy electro output of Low Limit and Lando Kal, yet it definitely bears the trademarks of their style - tons of cut-up samples, mutated vocals, cold synths and very distinct micro-beat plus wonky bassline. One can definitely hear further move towards the Europe / UK urban scene (well, to be honest the boyz has followed this direction in their releases for some time already) and Batman easily fits the Glasgow's Numbers profile (what is obvious) as well as L-vis 1990's Night Slugs or some other UK G / future garage imprints. Now, I am even more anxious to hear the entire release, as I believe that Lazer Sword with their sample- and synth-based sensitivity and craftsmanship could bring a lot of fresh air to the growing UK electronic scene, while at the same time transferring some of UK urban sound back to the States. I keep my fingers crossed.

Batman EP 12" should drop soon on Innovative Leisure with remixes by Rustie and Nguzunguzu.

Raffertie - Electronic Explorations 118

Raffertie in the hot mix for Electronic Explorations. For all of you who know Raffertie's previous productions, this mix can be a bit of surprise. Raffertie's ravey, oldschool, amen-infused, wobble-horror aesthetics seem to be now subjected to a serious treatment with UK Funky and Future Garage, and also experimental electronica (reminding me a of tigerbeat6 productions) though with a definite trademark of crazy Raffertie sound. And with tracks like Rank Functions I can definitley hear Raffertie moving into even more experimental areas. Which is GOOD! I regard Raffertie a top producer and expect exploring new directions in music exactly from such people. Well, we will see what will come of it, new stuff from Raffertie will drop soon. For the time being, listen to his Electronic Explorations mix.

Raffertie about the mix:
"The mix is a preview of just some of my new material that I’ve been working on recently and it defines a new direction that I am heading with my music. The first release on my brand new label, a track called ‘Rank Functions’, which will be backed with a brilliant remix from Brighton’s Ital Tek as well as two other original tracks from myself are showcased in the mix. Photomachine and Randomer, two producers who have been dazzling me with their productions in recent months and who will also be releasing on my new label, are included here in the mix.
A full announcement about the label will be going up on my blog in the next week or two: http://www.raffertie.com"

Dj Spox - Pure Mix (100% Spox)

DJ Spox from Warsaw, Poland is a super talented producer whose top-notch quality tracks combine UK Funky with Electro, stomping Heavy Bass, Dubstep and whatnot. He has just released a super duper ass-kicking banging mix including his own originals and remixes. Drop the Lime's or AC Slater's remixes by Dj Spox really stand out from an ocean of reworks done by other artists across the globe, listen to this mix, to prove for yourself, great vibe from the first till the last minute. Highly recommended by Doktor Krank!

A word of encouragement from the Man himself, believe me every word is true :)))

"The idea behind the mix is to showcase some of the original music, as well as remixes, I did this year. It features the tunes posted on both Polish and foreign blogs (including Top Billin, Trouble & Bass), the ones played in clubs, forthcoming releases and brand new exclusives. All of them, apart from the few original samples, were produced by me. There are only few DJs in Poland who are producers at the same time. As far as I know, this truly might be the first producer mix in Poland, melting together Electro, UK Funky, Bass, Dubstep or Dirty Disco. The number of genres adds to the 'party' vibe of the mix.
Hope you enjoy it and pass it on to your friends and further.
Thanks."

Silicon Summer EP - Shockout 21

Shockout has released another pumping, bass, drummy, beat heavy EP - Silicon Summer. Barcelona's wizz-kid Cardopusher (and definitely one of my favorite dubstep / lazer bass producers) offers great, Night Slugz'-like beat and synth-driven dubstep summer vibes in Heartbeat Jam, but my favorite tracks come from Cardo's friends, the Caracas production Duo of Pacheko & Pocz. Kuduro step par excellence! Cohete with neon synths, stomping kuduro beat and talking bassline creates the fusion of sounds I would really like to hear more coming from dubstep / UK Funky / future garage scene!! San Fran's Ghosts on Tape mutates the sound and vocals in a kind of liquid digital raeggaton / UK Funky style but focusing more on darker and deeper vibes. Finally, BADXMAN from Agoraphobistan in UK employs tons of lazers in a dirty, rude UK urban trip rolling on a pulsating low-frequency sub-bass. This EP is a must for any fan of forward-looking EDM!!

Grab the best track from this EP for your listening pleasure my dear blog readers:

If you are somewhere in the vinicity go check them to hear the best UK Funky / Future Garage / Dubstep played by the Polish producers who have recently released a very well received PL Funky EP on the label of one of my favorite producers - Top Billin from Finland. Lineout.pl Launch Party : Phantom x Vanatoski x Intreau
29.05 Klub Maszroom / Wrocław
start: 21:00 tax: 5 / 10 PLN

THE PHANTOM (Senseless / Top Billin / Warszwa)
Vanatoski (Gang$teppaz / Top Billin / Kraków)
Intreau (VODKA TEARZ / BBQ / Wrocław)

hosted by: Tips’n'Tricks (Lineout / Wrocław)

PL FUNKY to jeden z fenomenów końcówki 2009 i pierwszych miesięcy bieżącego roku. Spontaniczna krakowska inicjatywa, by nie tylko grać uk funky w swoich setach, ale także użyć producenckich umiejętności doczekała się finału w postaci oficjalnego wydawnictwa w prestiżowej wytwórni Top Billin. Lineout.pl Launch Party będzie pierwszą we Wrocławiu okazją by sprawdzić aktualnie najgorętszych i najbardziej znanych za granicą polskich producentów.

Bohaterami wieczoru, będą: THE PHANTOM, projekt Bartosza Kruczyńskiego (znanego też z mash-upowego duo El Barto & Liam B) czerpiący inspiracje z brytyjskich gatunków: funky, garage, dubstep i grime. Stawkę uzupełnia Intreau, produkujący future’owe numery z pogranicza garage i UKF, gospodarz cyklu BBQ.

Lineout.pl Launch Party to pierwsza impreza sygnowana marką portalu Lineout. Hostami imprezy będą Funknote i Jimmy Clee czyli kolektyw Tips’n'Tricks – spodziewajcie się sporej dawki glitch-hopu, new beats, skweee i wonky!

Supra1 f. Amy Douglas - Still Believe (L-Vis 1990 / Brackles remixes)

Supra1, a producer duo from Poland representing Trouble & Bass crew, after a series of very successfull remixes for, e.g. Mumdance, Brodinski, Drop the Lime and alike, are preparing a new EP with their original tracks which should drop at the end of May. The remixes of their Still Believe with great vocals by Amy Douglas, started popping out in the blogosphere. First two come from heavy-weight champions of the UK Funky / Future Garage / 2-step / or wot u call it this urban UK sound so popular at the moment - Brackles and "Night Slugs" L-vis 1990. If I were to choose between the two versions, I would probably point to L-vis 1990, but both tracks are quality!! Cop them while they last, I don't intent to repost it in any form later:
