Pagen Elypsis - One Hit Away (Zarkov Remix)

Let me please introduce mutant glitch hop par excellence. A f****g banger, I tell you. Zarkov -a homie from Glitch Hop Forum and a part of new, interesting collective of beatmakers Tape Death hailing from Australia - remixed the first single of the debut release One Way Ticket by Adelaide's leading hip-hop crew Pagan Elypsis. Zarkov created a banging monster of midtempo bass heaven. I can't wait to feed this beast to my car's sound system and cruise the streets with subs pumped up full turning my car into one big boombox on wheels :)) Ride ooooooon!

Back to virtuality with banging beats and pieces.

After nearly three weeks of deliberate No-Virtuality (just ocassional e-mail checking via mobile) in the land of Zeus, Athena and my beloved Eris, Doktor Krank gradually returns to the interweb, though I wouldn's say I missed the web too much, if you know what I mean. The reality of sun, sea, beaches and mountain trekking is way more interesting. Apologies to those who sent me messages via various channels of communication. I wouldn't be able to respond to most of them.

Of course I managed to fish out a few pieces of nice, stomping music from my overloaded accounts, which I definitely would like to share with all of you. Starting from super hot and pumping glitch hop anthem by a homie from USofA - Bartlomein. In my opinion, his best tune to-date. A real banger of sick distortion.

Heavy-bass banger king Hostage has dropped recently a free Roll EP on Nightshifters label. Hesitate you should not! Hostage may not be an innovator of direction-setter of the scene, but he always delivers good quality stuff and knows perfectly how to handle fat bass. Give him a try. The package includes nice remixes by Samo Sound Boy, Dj Donna Summer and Figure.

Dj Spox - Pure Mix (100% Spox)

DJ Spox from Warsaw, Poland is a super talented producer whose top-notch quality tracks combine UK Funky with Electro, stomping Heavy Bass, Dubstep and whatnot. He has just released a super duper ass-kicking banging mix including his own originals and remixes. Drop the Lime's or AC Slater's remixes by Dj Spox really stand out from an ocean of reworks done by other artists across the globe, listen to this mix, to prove for yourself, great vibe from the first till the last minute. Highly recommended by Doktor Krank!

A word of encouragement from the Man himself, believe me every word is true :)))

"The idea behind the mix is to showcase some of the original music, as well as remixes, I did this year. It features the tunes posted on both Polish and foreign blogs (including Top Billin, Trouble & Bass), the ones played in clubs, forthcoming releases and brand new exclusives. All of them, apart from the few original samples, were produced by me. There are only few DJs in Poland who are producers at the same time. As far as I know, this truly might be the first producer mix in Poland, melting together Electro, UK Funky, Bass, Dubstep or Dirty Disco. The number of genres adds to the 'party' vibe of the mix.
Hope you enjoy it and pass it on to your friends and further.
Thanks."

Terror Tone - Snake Charmer EP

It's always a pleasure to feature on my blog artists who have some Polish roots, which is exactly the case with a dude Terror Tone from Toronto in Canada. A few weeks ago he released his new EP - Snake Charmer and this is exactly the type of music I crave for at the beginning of veeeeryyyy hot weekend (yeah after flood distaster the weather in Poland turned tropical as if to compensate for the lack of proper sun for months). I really dig TT's mixture of electro house vs stomping breakbeat / garagey ting vs. bass-sensitiveness. Production quality is crispy clean. Just check the music below to move'ya body to the pumping rhythm.

Slater & Lime - Creepin (Spox remix)

T&B's Drop the Lime and AC Slater has finally joined their forces and released their collaboration in the form of a single called Creeping (check it on juno). The original is a kind of funky house exercise, neither bad nor amazing, but a Polish producer from my hometown (Warsaw), DJ Spox turned this tune into a real dancefloor monster with some sick stabs and acid-laden, distorted bassline, as if trying in his work to unleash extra force to beat the totally evil spirit of bad weather we have had here this Autumn, ermmm, I mean Spring. One of the most uplifting, powerful and ass-kicking bangers I've heard in a while. Cop it while it lasts.

If you want more Spox, you should definitely check his soundcloud for more sick remixes and PL FUNKY EP released on the Top Billin label, featuring Spox next to other talented producers from Poland (who despite the name of the release do not copy UK Funky sound in their music) e.g. Vanatoski, The Phantom, Tears and  Zeppy Zep. Definitely one of the best 'Polish' releases this year! More info on Top Billin blog.

LAZER SWORD - SHOT IN THE NITE / KOOPA BOSS MODE 7" (INNOVATIVE LEISURE)

After fantastic The Golden Handshake EP, Low Limit and Lando Kal, acting together again as LAZER SWORD, has released a limited blue vinyl 7" with most surprising, infectious, cheesy-as-hell and shower-friendly track I've heard in a while, namely Shot in the Nite. Since the first hearing, it kinda stuck in my head and now emerges from time to time in most unexpected moments as if shot into my brain by some heavy-duty bionic commando :) A very peculiar tribute to disco funky happiness of the 70's/80's, pure hedonistic uplifting pleasure with uniquely Lazer Sword mutated and crunked up synths. Let's sing and dance together boys and girls to this BANGERRRRRRRRRRRRR !!! This is the tune I could easily bear being played twenty times a day on mainstream, commercial radio stations :) The best tool to create havoc on any dancefloor. Blap to the Future!!!!

In Koopa Boss Mode, the Trapperkeeper meets 3D Action Jackson to deliver the usual plunderphonic madness with plenty of sick samples and cut-up beats squashed together, reprocessed and then spat out on you with head-nodding force. Slow but effective banger!

STEREOHEROES - ACTION PACK MIXTAPE

Nowadays, anyone can prepare a set full of bangers, but there are very few DJ's who know how to keep the full attention of listeners / dancers dropping heavy bomb after heavy bomb. Stereoheroes from France are the absolute champions in this competition. Pumping, powerful, energetic, limbs-twisting frenzy. Funkastic mix with Seth Rogen skits (!)- I want no more.
Here is what they say on the occasion of this mix:

"The concept is easy : Action Pack is a mixtape + A new original track + a World tour.
The world tour started already.
The track will be released soon and is featured in the mixtape.

And what’s interesting us right now, the mixtape.
To celebrate our two years of existence we built this mixtape for the people who came to our shows the last few months and were asking for a live recording of our sets, we hope they will find the same energy and diversity in it.
And even if it’s our birthday, we decided to make some presents ourselves by including not less than 6 exclusive unreleased StereoHeroes tracks and remixes.”

MR FOGG - KEEP YOUR TEETH SHARP (POIRIER REMIX)

MR FOGG - KEEP YOUR TEETH SHARP (POIRIER REMIX) (via rcrdrlbl)

I don't know the original of this track but do I need to? The remix by Poirier is a fucken dirty banger riding on hi-hats, fast pads, infectious synths and merciless bassline. Surprisingly, this little big joint has no tropical reagge temperamento, the usual suspects in Poirier armory, but it is just pure killing dancefloor nuke. Nice job Mr. Poirier, now gimmee more!!

Big Dope P - Southside Anthem remix EP

1 - DJ HILTI Juke Remix
2 - THE CHEERZ Banger Remix
3 - EMMANUELLE Dope Remix
4 - DEEMAH Break It Down Remix

BIG DOPE P - SOUTHSIDE ANTHEM EP (JUNO)

Big Dope P - Southside Anthem Remixes EP (TEASER) [mediafire]

Bounce Bounce wiggle wiggle shake shake to the gangsta ghetto beats.
Big Dope P is in da house. He is back with the new EP including 4 remixes of his Southside Anthem initially released on Dirty Geto Traxxx Volume 1 in May 2009 on moveltraxx. Big Dope P came to my radar thanks to absolutely smashing remix of Barely Evil by RQM. I really dig his uncompromised approach to music and juke house bouncy goodness he unleashes on the listening public. Great for resetting your mind after a tiresome day'n'nite of multi-tasking: browsing / listening / pretending-to-work / doing some other less important daily routines (like eating, talking to your girlfriend or playing with your kids). However, the main purpose of Big Dope P's music is quite obvious - he drops ill bombs to be activated in the clubs during hot ass-shaking manouvers at the dancefloor.

Grab the original track:
Big Dope P - Southside Anthem (original mix) (highly recommended)
Yeah, great stuff from Big Dope P. Ghetto bounce in full force!!

The first remix on the release is from Moveltraxx'
DJ HILTI. Juke house uptempo frenzy and fast drums will make you shake and jump like crazy. Copy that? Turbo Phenix & Wicked Fox aka THE CHEERZ (Ho-Ju Rec/Moveltraxx) go totally mental in a stomping B-More / Fidget Electro Banger. This one will be rinsed heavily by DJ's, I'm absolutely sure. The Cheerz has just drop their first EP on Ho-Ju Records which is supported by Kissy Sellout who spins their records every week on BBC1. More solid Baltimore comes from EMMANUELLE Crew. Brokenbeat based remix is very dancefloor-oriented and ghetto vocals spice up the shit properly. Finally, DEEMAH (OM Recordings/D'Lectable Rec) delivers classic house tune with chopped up samples which is rather not my cup of the tea.

One more remix of Southside Anthem which did not fit the release can be downloaded for free. Acid house remix by
Doan (TV On Mars / Musique Moderne / Interferences / dBfX) is heavy!

BIG DOPE P - SOUTHSIDE ANTHEM (DOAN from TV on Mars ACID RMX) (highly recommended)

If you want more - listen to this bouncy, liquid, shaky and dirty mix by the Big Man! Don't try it at work - you won't be able to concentrate or sit at the desk for more than 2 minutes :)

THE BIG DOPE MIXTAPE (FALL 2009)

More banging goodies by Big Dope P:

Big Dope P - Chinagora Bloxxxx Bounce (Oliver$ remix) (highly recommended)
A typical pumping, 'silly' beat by Oliver$ plus some nice vocals and carnival air-horns and voila you have a ghetto banger.

Big Dope P - Back to Da Old Future (highly recommended)
Vocals simply kill!!

Big Dope P - Back to Da Old Future (Twist it! remix)
Broken beat amens and nice work with vocals. I like!

TERROR TONE BANGERS

Canada has become one of the most interesting and thriving spots music-wise on my global map. Turbo Crunk crew (Megasoid, Hovatron and the rest), Glitch Hop Headz (Ill-Esha, Ill-Gates, Glitchy 'n Scratchy, Integrated Grime Unit crew and many more), big dubstep community (DZ plus Taal Mala, Max Ulis, Self Evident from Lighta! crew to name a few). Now, I have come across a gifted banger / heavy bass producer from Toronto - Terror Tone.

I hate nationalism and all -isms as a matter of fact, but it's still nice to find some traces of Polish ancestry out there in the global music community. Terror Tone was born in Poland and emigrated with his parents to Canada as a child :) but I am not promoting his music because of this 'sentimental value', I do this because it is pretty straigthforward, pounding and ass-kicking quality banger shit.

Terror Tone's Badman Bounce EP is coming out around October / November on
Intelligenix Records. You better watch out as this release should be quite intense. As a foretaste grab his original mix off the forthcoming EP.

Terror Tone - Dirty Disco

Infectious acid-like, ravey bassline in a groovy but pretty dark and dirty house track.

Everything All The Time - Getting Higher (Terror Tone remix) (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

This remix of the Toronto's group, Everything All The Time by Terror Tone is pure banger with a longish vocal intro which builds up into ultra dirty and heavy bassline. Think Hostage, A1 Bassline, The Squire of Gothos, Foamo and you get the picture. Don't miss this one!

Anna Cyzon - Reputation (Terror Tone Breakbeat Remix)

This one is another solid work from Terror Tone, a remix of pop song by
Anna Cyzon (again quite a skillful Polish-born singer!). Broken beat and cut-up vocals work quite well spicing up the original while synths add a lot of space and I really really like Anna's dirty singing.

StereoHeroes feat. Mic Terror - Juke Dem Hoes

StereoHeroes - dirty rotten frog-eating champions of banging sound. Love all their productions. Juke Dem Hoes is naughty naughty and politically incorrect and I f..g like it a lot. I could not resist myself and lifted this ultra ass-shaking shit from discobelle.

BANGER SLAYERS FROM HELL - CONTRA BASS, BIAŁYSTOK, METRO 22.08.09

Białystok, Metro Club, 22 August 2009. CONTRA BASS. Best party of the year, great vibe. I had so much fun, I danced my ass off. My neck, my legs, all my muscles hurt for 3 days afterwards. This almost reminded me of tribal/industrial/trance parties at the beginning of the 90's when Poland had just kicked off communism and embraced the West with all its pros and cons, including acid/extasy culture and rave revolution.

Here are some pictures and vids shot by your humble humble narrator (bear in mind under the influence of various, ehmmmm nice drugs, alcohol including). Bangers were flying high, crowd was sweating and dancing, friends were there and girls were smiling and shaking their asses and DJ's definitely had the best time of all :) I was totally surprised how well everything clicked and exceeded my expectations. My best friend DJ Koola played the best set I've heard of him in like, hmm 10 years. Heavy, fast, banging and whompy, full of drops and kicks, killing basslines and fantastic remixes. My brother DJ Montek equipped with a Mac, Ableton and controlllers actually played his first full-digital / no vinyl live set and he fucking set the dancefloor on fire! He shot bangers with the speed of an Uzi and when the dancers couldn't stand more ended them with heavy dubstep sub-bass. I'm really proud of my brother's skills. Expect a heavy mix from him soon on my blog. Dtekk had to replace Montek behind the decks at 2 a.m. probably saving a few dancers but nonetheless continuing with propa sound what two rudebwoys started. Uff, this was a hell of a party and great closing of the summer in Poland. Well, I couldn't make to Flying Lotus, HudMo, Tim Exile gig in Katowice this weekend :(

Koola on the buttons !! What a hug with Montek!

Montek killing with bassline Mumdance remix! Actually this is the best track of my 7yr old kid :)

More Montek and wicked shit

CLP - 2 LIVE SETS - MIDSOMMER & DETROIT

Bounce bounce stomp stomp kick kick jump juuuuuuuuuuuuuump !! CLP is in da hause!

I LOVE CLP (Chris de Luca and Phon.o). These two Berliners do not like nuances, complicated music patterns or soft basslines. No, they love to attack listeners with an avalanche of banging noize and fast beats with hardly any room for breath. I can clearly imagine myself jumping my ass off and sweating like an Eskimo in Ethopia to their music. Well, for now i have to hold the desk pretty hard and use all efforts to keep my head focused on a screen (please be a good head please). What a fantastic warm up to Saturday's hedonistic pleasures awaiting me at Audioriver Festival.

I don't give a f..g damn about MJ and media craze but CLP's refix of MJ's smooth criminal during their live show at Midsommer Fest simply killed me. Just listen! (sadly, no tracklist).

Dj Craze - June Mix

To celebrate his appearance in Fabric on 12 June 2009, Dj Craze invites all of you to listen to his brand-spanking-new mix. He will play alongside Scratch Perverts, Klever, Patchwork Pirates with other big names represented in other rooms.

The tracklist of this mix is stellar. I will just use three words: eclectic, bouncy and bass-heavy. He somehow managed to combine all the best tracks and remixes flying high (my subjective view at least) recently in the blogosphere and prepared a tasty mish-mash of electronic soundz, starting from the best electro track in history (again my subjective view) - i.e. Dominator, here in Herve's refix, through artists you'd see regularly on the roll in such mixes, i.e. Major Lazer, L-Vis 1990, Jack Beats Jack, Hostage, DZ, Foamo to Buraka Som Sistema. Don't sleep on it.

New Potty Mouth Music EP: TJR - Eat, Breathe, Sleep promo

Promo Pack Free Download - It includes all three tracks in 128kbps format plus some artwork.
EAT, BREATHE, SLEEP EP (PMM025) Released May 19, 2009 via Beatport.com (Exclusive for 4 Weeks) Original tracks by: TJR Tracks: Good Evening Chicago, I Dont Know Where Remix by: Klaus Hill (Good Evening Chicago)
I'm not a "house" guy as such, but I must confess to listening to quite a lot of fidget house or blog-house, as it is sometimes called. I very often use the simple, and totaly misleading and well-known term - banger - to describe it. As this type of music should be played on dancefloors and should make your head bang and swing. If it does not, than it's a crap, be it nurave, nudisco, electro, fidget or gadget house ....

Potty Mouth Music label run by James Amato from Chicago groups in its roster top guys in this category with smashing releases hitting the charts and DJ crates with extraordinary regularity. Crookers, Hijack, Mightyfools, The Bulgarian, Heavyfeet, Santiago and Bushido to name the few - I've heard so many banging killers from them that I eagerly wait for every release.

This time it's the debut release by Chicago's TJR: Eat, Breathe, Sleep EP including two original tracks and one remix by Klaus Hill from Australia.
I Dont Know Where is a solid disco-oriented, fidgety stomper with a few lazer soundz added for a good measure, but definitely the higlight of this release is Good Evening Chicago.
TJR says: “Creating a song dedicated to the city that keeps redefining house music was a goal of mine”. Indeed! It is a pumping and totally infectious fidget house track, a tribute and an anthem in one pack, produced by a guy who has been a scene veteran for over 15 years. He expresses his gratituded in the best possible way by addressing the public and the live sound of the crowd responding adds a lot to this track which I believe would be heavily played across the dancefloors. Good Evening Chicago easily passes my personal test for banger - I swung my head like crazy and my co-workers again look at me in this particular, strange way :)))))
The remix by Klaus Hill is okey, but nothing more. I prefer the original and will be waiting for more remixes as they will definitely follow. Listen to the tracks in the promo pack and grab them from Beatport.

Squire of Gothos vs. Chubby Fingers

I wanna bang my head. HARD! The weather is shitty and I have so much work I crave for an energy kick, some simple beats and heavy rhythm to forget about all this corpo shit I have to waddle through. It's time for bangers.
Mnuvrs Mixtape [16]: The Squire of Gothos (Mp3) Sheffield's Rave Kings from The Squire of Gothos seem to be a perfect solution.

(Don't forget to support their releases The Squire of Gothos on Juno)

... and then another banger mix. This time more disco-oriented, full of dancefloor anthems and explosive tunes from Chubby Fingers.

Raffertie - Bigger Than Barry Mixtape'

Totally crazy, killing, pounding old-school / nu-school mash up banger shait !!!! Twisted rave step clashed head-on with breakbeat mayhem and heavy bass. I hereby, officially declare Raffertie most insane artist of 2009. Barely 22 years old, this Birmingham producer has very strange music taste and DJ skills indeed, and this is no coincidence that one can hear him a lot on Starkey’s Seclusias Radio Show in SubFm. Anyway, I write no more as no words can prepare you to what you will hear. Perplexing mix, I’m totally impressed and surprised.

Crookers – We make it good mix series vol.7

My favorite Italians of the music scene - Crookers - hail with a new, quite surprising mix for wemakeitgood.com. It is a clash of old, San-Remo style Italian popular songs with modern-day bangers. This really works, trust me! (ah, well I love Italo disco ...)
